Milk at MOONTREE 47 By Danno Thursday October 27, 2011
What started of as a damp Saturday evening slowly brightened up with the melodic sounds of vocal harmonies and the knick-knack strumming from the ukulele. Milk consists of both Josh and Anna who both equally played and sung interchangeably throughout their set. They were joined together with their friend Lou who was started playing on their home-made tom-tom and sporadically switched instruments with the two throughout the night.
Not only did the trio do a full set with their own original tunes, the talented trio wowed the crowd with their spontaneity and creativity when they interacted with the crowd to blurt out random words and they created a tune right there on the spot. Songs about Sex-Craved- Bugs Bunny-in-skinny jeans and Sarong-wearing-transvestite-pizza-server were very Flight-of-the-Conchords-esque and was supremely deck.

Waste not want not, freecycle, trash n treasure, swap meet, gift economy,
free market, hippy boho chic, op shop, vintage, retro, exchange change the world!
NON-COMMERCE ZONE: THIS IS NOT A PLACE TO BUY OR SELL ANYTHING.
(Wine, cheese, coffee, cake, meals will be available)
A clothing swap is a fun and smart way to get rid of all the clothes, shoes, and accessories that you never wear. At the same time, you can find new treasures and meet interesting people!
* Please only bring GOOD quality clothing/textiles/yarns for swapping. Worn, torn, or stained items are fine but please put them in a separate bag. NO UNDERGARMENTS unless they are NEW!
* Please respect other swappers. The swap is about resource SHARING. It is a free marketplace where negative energy is not invited.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING?
Please bring clothing, shoes, or accessories (scarves, hats, bags, etc.) in good condition. The stuff that needs the love that you haven't been able to give it. Please be sure that it's CLEAN*
WHAT NOT TO BRING: anything dirty, stinky, moldy, covered in animal hair, etc.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
When you arrive you get a token for each item you bring. You then get to try on and check out everyone else's stuff. To start the exchange fairly, we'll draw names from a hat to take turns to choose one favourite item.
IS THIS A TRADE, AN EVEN SWAP?
We cannot guarantee an even exchange of items or that you will find anything you like or anything in your size. Everyone who participates will have different tastes, sizes, family members, etc. There is no way we can make sure everyone leaves with the same amount of items they came with. You just might not find as many items you like compared to the number of items you brought. You might also find more items you like than the number of items you brought. Feel free to give away tokens
WHAT IF I DON'T HAVE ANY CLOTHES TO TRADE? Can I still come to the swap?
Yes you can… but come on - you have stuff to bring. You can also bring hats, shoes, belts, backpacks, fabric, yarn, costumes, books, useful items, etc.
CAN I JUST GRAB ALL THE BEST CLOTHES AND RESELL THEM?
This swap is a small community event, so when people come in with this intention, it is very noticeable. It is best to try this tactic at another swap because you'll be ask to leave. Please be considerate.
CAN ANYONE COME TO THE SWAP?
Everyone is welcome. Women, men, children. Young, mature. Students, skeptics, professionals, amateurs, artists and monsters.
THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND:
BAGS: In addition to the bags that you’ll carry your clothes in, also consider bringing all those plastic/paper shopping bags you’ve been accumulating… OR bring a few cloth bags.
THE MORE, THE BETTER: The more people who come, the more options we have. So invite a friend! Someone who is your size or whose kids are a little bigger than yours.
TRYING THINGS ON: Our swaps are open to women, men, and children. So, for convenience, consider dressing in clothing that will allow you to try things over them. There will be some mirrors and a small change area.
Hanoi’s hit music sensation “Toothbrush” spent the better part of last year blasting their gypsy-roots-post-folk-future-funk flavour through the street and bars of Hanoi, highlights including; the opening of Hanoi Rock City and the grand final of VTV6’s Let Get Loud. In fact if one were to google the words; “Toothbrush Hanoi” one may very well find videos and strange images.
Comedy, tragedy or bromance? If Toothbrush were a movie you would want to watch it. If it were a new car you would want to dive it. If it were a mobile phone, it would probably be a fake, but Toothbrush is not a fake, because Toothbrush is a band and they’re playing the greatest show ever at:

After the sudden disappearance of drummer Luke Destefano, “The Brush” has rushed to refresh its minty four-boy formula. Blossoming bromance between “The Brush” and a Geordie boy, formerly a member of “The Love Bus” has given rise to a new flavour, not yet matured but still equally as minty...

Toothbrush is the latest band to hit the Hanoi music scene. Four talented boys with way too much spare time and too little money have formed the greatest band ever for the love of sex, unprofessionalism and good dental hygiene. If the ghost of Django Reinhardt formed an old time funk love band with 5 fingered 1920′s Jazz hands and 12 bar blues caravaning folk tails in vests, then Toothbrush would be their.... underpaid cleaners.
Find us on:
Behind The Brush
The story of Toothbrush began in June of 1997 at The European Federation of Periodontology, a dental convention held in Stockholm, Sweden. Following a chance meeting Joshua Lee, Jason Snook, John Reeve and Luke Destefano discover a common love of music which formed a life long friendship that would see them travel to the other side of the globe more than 13 years later to reunite in Hanoi, Vietnam.
The four members of toothbrush share two nationalities. Joshua and Jason are Australian and John and Luke are American. On a side note their fathers also share the same occupation, dentistry, hence the name Toothbrush. All the boys are in their mid 20's and play music while teaching English, music and kindergarten. Toothbrush plans to record their album anthology "Toothpicks" at the beginning of next year and is currently seeking sponsorship from major toothpaste labels to spread their message of good dental hygiene.
Colgate was quoted as saying "Sorry I've never heard of them"
Đằng sau The Brush:
